Read more about each position here.

SAA at UCLA was established in 1996 and is an official student chapter of the Society of American Archivists. As a student chapter of a professional organization, SAA at UCLA strives to familiarize students with the archival profession, sponsor extra-curricular learning sessions, and organize networking opportunities.

Last school year, we took students on tours of the UCLA Archives and Special Collections, Los Angeles History Museum Archives and Library, and the Reagan Presidential Library. We also sponsored and co-sponsored events such as, the “What is Digital Humanities?” talk with Professor Johanna Drucker, the Los Angeles Area Archivist Get-Together, a Viewshare Workshop, and various Learn EAD/XML/TEI workshops at the Research Library Research Commons. And who could forget everyone’s favorite meme-inspired fundraiser, the Valentine Gosling Grams.

Join us in planning this year’s great events!!

Candidates should write a brief statement of interest and submit it here by Tuesday, October 2. Positions are open to first and second year masters students, as well as doctoral students. Elections will be held during the first week of October. Feel free to contact current officers, Gloria Gonzalez and Angel Diaz, at uclasaa@ucla.edu, if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Angel Diaz & Gloria Gonzalez
